WIND HORSES

PRESENTATION

eXperiencies Costa Brava et proposes one of the most beautiful routes in Catalonia, the Cavalls del Vent crossing. You can start at any of our eight shelters. Being a circular route it can be done in both directions of travel. With more than 80 km of route we will walk between the 902 m -in the valley of the river Bastareny- and the 2,513 m of altitude (the refuge of Nest of the Eagle; 2,536 if it ascends, as it proposes, in the Tusi) accumulating a positive difference in altitude of 4,800 m that leave within reach of the walker various ecosystems and corners as emblematic and spectacular as the peaks of the Tusi and the Penyes Altes del Moixeró, the north face of the Cadí, the Pedregosa mountains and Gisclareny, Pedraforca, the shade of Gresolet, the Empedrats and the valleys of Bastareny and Gréixer. There are also several scattered hamlets and old buildings full of history such as the sanctuary of Gresolet, the hermitage of Sant Martín del Puig and the church of Sant Andreu de Gréixer.

madeira island

PRESENTATION

Next we present to you our trip to the island of Madeira, where we had the pleasure of enjoying a lush environment and the canyons with great verticals that put us to the test.

Do you want to go canyoning in Madeira?

Don't know which ravines to include in your stay? Do not you worry!

In this post we share with you several proposals for Barrancs and Levades so that you can have several examples and replicate them or adapt them to your tastes and needs.

If you prefer, we can also guide and organize your trip to this canyoning paradise.

Located 500 km away from the African coast (almost at the same latitude as Casablanca) and 1000 km from the European continent, the Madeira archipelago, of volcanic origin, consists of two main islands: the island of Madeira ( 740.7 km²) and the island of Porto Sant (42.5 km²), and two sets of uninhabited islands: the Desert Islands, three small islands located 25 km southeast of the island of Madeira and the Selvagens islands, two islands and sixteen islets located 250 km south of Madeira, which constitute nature reserves.

Madeira is a Portuguese region that, due to its status as an archipelago far from the continent, has a certain autonomy, similar to that of the Spanish Autonomous Communities. The main city is Funchal, the capital of the island of Madeira, which is located to the south of it. It was the first city that the Portuguese founded outside the continent and it stretches along the skirts of the immense mountain that is the entire island to the sea, where the historic center is located.

The canyon descent paradise is waiting for you.
